This is the vision of a selfless and extraordinary woman, dedicated to rescuing, sheltering— and nurturing to health— abused or abandoned animals ranging in size from the tiniest to the largest, found in Central Florida and beyond.
The goal is to save these innocent animals from abuse, suffering or death. Ultimately, when their health is restored through medical attention and nurturing— and their fear of humans has been replaced by wagging tails— a loving home is sought for each of these innocent and precious creatures. Happily, many loving homes are successfully found every month.
If an adequate home cannot be found then the Angels Have Whiskers farm becomes a temporary, or sometimes permanent home, and no animal could have a greater reward than the care they receive here.
Angels Have Whiskers is the creation of a ‘human Angel’ named Cherie Stockholm, a woman with a heart that has no limits, and seemingly tireless energy to go with it. She refers to the animals she’s been rescuing for over 30 years as her “kids”, and if you could be fortunate enough to visit the Angels Have Whiskers farm, your heart would be joyously warmed by the interaction between Cherie, her assistants, and these feline, canine, equine, bovine (and many other species of) “kids”.
Watching the transformation that these fortunate animals go through— from often emaciated, cowering, abandoned creatures, to healthy, trusting and happy ‘Angels’— prompt many to support the extraordinary work of this non-profit organization. But the costs associated with this truly wonderful vision continually grow together with the service provided— for food, medication, neutering, shelter, and the preparations made in advance to be able to help when the next phone call comes in reporting that an animal is suffering in any of very many ways.
